Scrabble Fund Raiser
April 13, 2007
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Terina Engel, Christa Humphrey and Lolita Tait for coming up with the idea as well as working so hard to make it happen. We can't thank you enough!
We would also like to give special thanks to the Edson Idle members of Pandora Players who added so much fun to the evening, as well as the generous donations they contributed.
On April 13th we held a Scrabble Night Fund Raiser at the Pioneer Cabin and the event was a huge success. We had people varying from teenagers to seniors come out to participate. We were able to raise a considerable amount of money that will be used for Family Literacy Day as well as International Adult Learners Week celebrations.
In 2006, we helped 120 individuals through our Adult and Family Literacy Programs, and thanks to your generous support, we are looking forward to being able to help even more people in 2007. We are thrilled to announce that we will be bringing the C.O.W. (Classroom on Wheels) bus to Edson this year, possibly in September in conjunction with International Adult Learners week. This is a great opportunity to continue to raise community awareness of our literacy programs as well as present parents with new ideas for family literacy activities that they can do at home.
Thank you to the following for your wonderful community support:
(Charlene Parker, Dian Dennison, JoAnn Hooper and Janine LaBlue)
